At KJ Equine Balance, just a short drive from Jyväskylä in Muurame, Central Finland, the horse is a companion first — not a piece of sports equipment.
Whether you want to try something completely new, slow down for an afternoon, or simply be near these gentle animals, our small, calm herd and relaxing countryside setting make it easy to feel at home, even if you've never been near a horse before.

What to expect
Sleigh rides (winter)
A peaceful horse-drawn sleigh ride through snowy countryside — a classic Finnish winter experience, no skills required.
Groundwork with horses
Get close to a horse on the ground — leading, connecting, and reading its body language. Often more moving than riding itself.
Classic riding lessons
Gentle, horse-led riding instruction for all levels, taught without pressure to "perform."
Stable days
A grounding day of hands-on horse care and outdoor time at our stable — feeding, grooming, and simply being present.
Archery on horseback
A playful, focus-building taster of mounted archery — a unique experience even for first-timers.
Mindful moments with horses (HeLMi®)
A guided, calming session of quiet presence with a horse — designed to soothe the nervous system, not to teach riding skills.
Children's activities
Safe, age-appropriate horse experiences for children, in a warm and closely supervised setting.

Group size — We keep our groups small by design, for a calm and personal experience.

No experience needed — Most of our activities welcome complete beginners.

Age — Private sessions suit all ages; group lessons are generally for ages 14 and up (younger children are welcome at our family-friendly events and private sessions).

Weather — Our horses live outdoors year-round and are used to the Finnish climate, so most activities go ahead in most weather, adapted as needed.
